Christmas

I'm well and truly in the Christmas mood! I have been making decorations out of paper doily's this morning and making our house look Christmasy. I know it's a day early but I can't help myself! Our house was already feeling a lot like x-mas because my husband and Isla put our tree up weeks ago! The first photo is from last year with our lovely real tree..

This years tree, very seventies, one of my op-shop finds!

Ready for the baby fair

I'm finished and ready to sell at the baby this weekend, I have sewn, ironed and hung all the clothing. I'm set, bring on the baby fair. This skirt is the last thing I've made...

More baby clothing

A few more things I am selling at the baby fair next weekend, some of the tops are pre-loved and some new, I have sewn on elephants, boats, flowers, whales and birds. I made three of the grey singlets from scratch. I've also made some merino singlets and pixie hats, not sure why when it's summer! So added with the dresses I've already made I'll have about thirty items, I hope I sell some of it!

More baby dresses

These are two more of the little dresses I've made using the vintage pattern. The green is for a present and the cream is for Isla. The girls wore them to a party today, they looked very cute!

Vintage baby pattern

I have been wanting to make this for ages but I hate trying to read patterns, especially old ones! I finally got round to it today, it can be Olive's party dress for this weekend (so many baby's turning one, lots of party's, exciting!) It is vintage material  (given to me by my aunty Margaret.) It is very similar to the Nature Baby dresses (they are $45,) I can't remember where I got the pattern but I won't have payed more than $1, so a very cheap dress!

Flower fairy's

I have just made some cute little flower fairy dresses for the girls, we going to a flower fairy party in a couple of weeks. I can't believe that I have never seen the books before, they are just beautiful! And the girls even have some cups and plates with the illustrations! They are by Cicely Mary Barke. Here are some of my favourites...

A beautiful baking book

Ladies, A Plate Traditional Home Baking is one of my favourite baking books, it's full of gorgeous classic recipes, lovely photo's old pages of original hand written recipes.

I was given this by a friend for my birthday a couple of years ago and since there has been a second book published, so I might have to give some hints to my husband for Christmas!
